Thermodynamics and phase diagram of high temperature superconductors.

چکیده
Thermodynamic quantities are derived for superconducting and pseudogap regimes by taking into account both amplitude and phase fluctuations of the pairing field. In the normal (pseudogap) state of the underdoped cuprates, two domains have to be distinguished: near the superconducting region, phase correlations are important up to temperature T(phi). Above T(phi), the pseudogap region is determined only by amplitudes, and phases are uncorrelated. Our calculations show excellent quantitative agreement with specific heat and magnetic susceptibility experiments on cuprates. We find that the mean field temperature T0 has a similar doping dependence as the pseudogap temperature T(*), whereas the pseudogap energy scale is given by the average amplitude above T(c).

It is a common knowledge that the formation of electron pairs is a necessary ingredient of any theoretical work describing superconductivity. Thus, finding the mechanism of the formation of the electron pairs is of utmost importance. There are some experiments on high transition temperature superconductors which support the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions as the pairing mechanism (ARPES),...

Neutron scattering is proved to be a vital probe in unveiling the magnetic properties of high temperature superconductors (HTSC). Detailed information about the energy and momentum dependence of the magnetic dynamics of HTSC have been obtained directly by this technique. Over the past decade by improving the crystal growth methods, large and high quality single crystals of HTSC, which are ess...

Thermal fluctuations and disorder play an essential role in high-Tc superconductors. After reviewing the mean-field phase diagram we describe significant modifications that result when the effects of finite temperature and disorder are incorporated. Thermal fluctuations cause the melting of the Abrikosov flux line lattice into a vortex liquid at high temperatures, and disorder produces novel gl...
متن کاملON TEMPERATURE versus DOPING PHASE DIAGRAM OF HIGH CRITICAL TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTORS
The attempt to describe the bell-shape dependence of the critical temperature of high-Tc superconductors on charge carriers density is made. Its linear increase in the region of small densities (underdoped regime) is proposed to explain by the role of the order parameter phase 2D fluctuations which become less at this density growth. The critical temperature suppression in the region of large c...
متن کاملLattice QCD at High Temperature and Density
After a brief introduction into basic aspects of the formulation of lattice regularized QCD at finite temperature and density we discuss our current understanding of the QCD phase diagram at finite temperature. We present results from lattice calculations that emphasize the deconfining as well as chiral symmetry restoring features of the QCD transition, and discuss the thermodynamics of the hig...
